Those who forget their past are doomed to relive it. Commemorate the Second World War period with the permanent Memorial exhibition called “The Time of Destruction and Hope” which will draw you into reliving the war, its political and civilian atmosphere of those evil times. First you enter the memorial hall, the centre of which is a glass sarcophagus with soil samples from the battlefields of World War II, concentration camps and other places of suffering. You will gradually return in time for example to the construction of border fortifications, the Munich Agreement, the occupation of Czechoslovakia, military operations in North Moravia and Silesia, the liberation of Czechoslovakia or to life in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The whole experience is enhanced by a symbolic cemetery with more than 13,000 plates containing the names of victims of World War II which extends around the entire monument.
