Although there was almost nothing interesting about windmills during the First Republic, there were 620 of them in our territory. Today, they are unique buildings that must be protected. Until now only a small amount of the original high number has been preserved. If you would like to see the best preserved building, visit Choltice near the village of Litultovice. Although this windmill originally does not come from here, it was sold in 1878 to František Romfeld of Choltice by the original owner from nearby Sadek. When viewing the mill, focus on a remarkable 17.3 metre wind wheel. You will not find a larger one in the Czech Republic. Be sure to also look inside where you will find a museum with a collection of farm supplies, axe-like tools and other items.
