Although the slate itself is a typical and common material for the Opava region, the museum is unique in our country. It can be found in a former mill building from the first half of the 18th century and you can go through more than seven hundred years of history of slate and its use. Do not miss the slate clock, school slate tablets, plant and animal fossils that are in this extensive exposition. After the visit you should follow straight onto the adjacent nature trail which maps old slate heaps, drifts, quarries and other buildings related to slate mining.
