Less than a kilometre from the village of Hlavnice stands a secluded wooden windmill dating from 1810 named after the last miller Jan Raab. You can see it whilst walking along the green hiking trail, although the view is rather sad. The now unkempt and uninhabited ram or so-called German type mill remains the subject of a struggle for restitution property rights despite a promising change in 1986 when the building underwent a partial reconstruction. Let’s hope that this unique cultural monument will receive proper repairs and a meaningful use sometime in the future.
