Pay homage to the Czech poet Petr Bezruč whose memorial can be found on the site of his birthplace in Opava. Bezruč is an inseparable icon of the Opava culture and his verses still read in Czech language lessons. Explore the Bezruč Memorial which is also a literary workplace focusing on processing of the works of important literary personalities of Silesia and North Moravia. The memorial also includes a library with more than twenty thousand volumes. And it was the initiative of the memorial that the famous literary multi-genre festival Bezručova Opava was founded. It takes place every year in September at the unique consecrated church of St. Wenceslas to commemorate Bezruč’s birth.
