A unique Catholic church with a rich and interesting history will attract the young and older generations alike. If the church walls could talk, they would take you not only to World War I, the church is a memorial to the fallen victims, but also to World War II, during which it served as a warehouse and observatory for the Luftwaffe. The church was not consecrated until 1993 as part of the 750th anniversary of the death of St. Hedvika. In addition to the interesting interior the church has a remarkable resemblance to the building from the popular computer game Minecraft which will be appreciated especially by younger visitors. The tower of the church will offer you a beautiful view where you have the whole Opava at your fingertips and, if the weather permits, perhaps you can see as far as Lysá hora and Praděd.
